Our History
AP Marble & Granite originally started as the GMP company. GMP had been in the industry for more than 50 years. It was a successful supplier of beautiful marble and other stones from across the world. The idea of establishing a facility to share the beauty of Italy’s natural stone, specifically marble, occurred in the 1990’s. In fact, the 100,000-pound block “M” made of Blue Pearl granite at the University of Michigan stadium was manufactured by GMP. Michigan and the Metro-Detroit area became a central focus and AP Marble & Granite Inc. was formed.
